“For the first time in the history of the International SAMBO Federation, Combat SAMBO fights will be held among juniors. This decision was made at a meeting of the FIAS Executive Committee after numerous appeals from national federations, due to the growing popularity of Combat SAMBO around the world. Perhaps it is at this tournament that a new star will shine, which in the future will be compared in popularity with such legendary athletes as Fedor Emelyanenko and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

I would like to express special words of gratitude to the general partner of the competition, the Rosneft oil company, for the special attention to our sport and the opportunity to hold the leading youth tournament of the FIAS calendar at the main sports arena of Armenia. I also want to thank the SAMBO Federation of Armenia, which makes every effort to ensure that this championship is held at a high level and remembered by all its participants and spectators,” said FIAS President Vasily Shestakov.
