SAMBO is interesting with its spectacularity and dynamics. However we often forget that first of all SAMBO we admire is made of people, originators of the wrestling who perceived everything new with inspiration and dedication, who were not afraid to combine elements of various martial arts and generously shared their experience with successors. They were SAMBO originators who learned, searched, tried as real creators. These people are known and remembered, their authority is still admired by SAMBO fans from all over the world.

SAMBO is champions who devote their energy to the favourite sport. Having won some titles they work on for more awards with determination and dignity. It is not the issue of medals alone. Love of fans and respect of colleagues can be as valuable as gold medals. Victories of these people are always spectacular and memorable. They inspire current athletes and become an example for future SAMBO practitioners.

It is impossible to imagine any victory without a wise master and a loyal friend behind it. Couches are people with strong character, outstanding mind, paternal concern and great patience. They almost always stay in the shade of their pupils, which however does not make their contribution less significant. On the contrary, their modesty and everyday work deserve high awards and sincere words of admiration and gratitude.

SAMBO contributes not only to a person’s physical development but also improves his skills and health. It teaches to be spiritually strong and devoted, and to stand against difficulties. Therefore it is especially important to remember the examples of successful people, our contemporaries who gained outstanding victories not only on the mat but also in life. All these people were and continue to be united by SAMBO.
