Pan American Sambo Union was admitted to the Association of Pan American Sports Confederations
The Pan American Sambo Union (UPASA) was admitted to the Association of Pan American Sports Confederations (ACODEPA). The corresponding decision was made at the ACODEPA congress, held on September 1 in Santiago, Chile.
“This event was another step for UPASA on the way to including SAMBO in the program of the Pan American Games. At the congress I spoke about the pace at which our favorite sport is developing in the region, which aroused the admiration of many participants in the event. I am happy that the Pan American Sambo Union has been recognized by such an authoritative organization, and we have gained an additional incentive to continue our work,” said Omar Lopera, President of the Pan American Sambo Union.
ACODEPA is an international organization recognized by and working closely with the Pan American Sports Organization (Panam Sports). It is Panam Sports that organizes the Pan American Games, as well as the formation of their competitive program.
