Australian Beach Sambo Championship took place in Adelaide
The Australian Beach Sambo Championship was held on March 22 at the central city beach of Adelaide, Glenelg. The competition took place with the support of the district administration. Athletes of various age categories from 3 states took part in the tournament: Victoria, Queensland and South Australia.
“The national Beach SAMBO competitions have been held in Adelaide for the second year. This time about 40 participants registered for the tournament. Taking into account the growing interest in this sport, next year we plan to diversify the tournament with a wide entertainment program for spectators,” said Savely Timofeev, President of the Sambo Federation of Australia.
He also said that before the start of the championship in Adelaide, a refereeing seminar was organized, where specialists from different states of the country took part.
The seminar participants got acquainted with the basic rules of SAMBO, the work and specifics of refereeing in three SAMBO disciplines: Sport, Combat and Beach.
