Play True Day 2025: Celebrating Clean Sport with SAMBO Athletes Worldwide

Every year on April 11th, we come together to celebrate Play True Day, a global initiative that promotes clean sport and highlights the importance of integrity, fairness, and respect in athletics. This day serves as a powerful reminder of our shared commitment to a fair, safe, and healthy sporting environment for all athletes.
Since its inception in 2014, Play True Day has grown into a worldwide movement, uniting athletes, organizations, and communities to advocate for clean competition. In 2025, we invite athletes, coaches, and fans from around the world to join the global sports and SAMBO community under the banner of #OnePlayTrueTeam, supporting clean sport and raising awareness about the fight against doping.
How to Get Involved:
- Use the Play True Day Toolkit: Download the 2025 toolkit from WADA’s page and share the assets on your social media platforms. Spread the message of clean sport and encourage others to get involved.
- Take part in the #PlayTrueChallenge: Share a video or photo of your efforts in the lead-up to Play True Day. Whether it’s a training session, a message of support, or your personal commitment to fair play, every action counts.
- Rally Your Community: Encourage your fellow athletes, coaches, and fans to join the campaign. Together, we can create a wave of support for clean sport and inspire future generations of athletes.
- Engage with Us on Social Media: Follow and engage with WADA and FIAS on social media before, during, and after Play True Day to stay connected with the global conversation about clean sport.
Why We Celebrate:
At FIAS, we’ve been celebrating Play True Day alongside SAMBO athletes from all over the world since 2014. Through campaigns like #FairSambo, we’ve highlighted the values of respect, sportsmanship, and equality – core principles that are central to both SAMBO and the global clean sport movement. Each year, athletes and federations come together to share their stories and beliefs in clean sport, fostering a community united by fairness and self-respect.
This year, as we join the #OnePlayTrueTeam campaign, we want to thank everyone who has supported the clean sport movement from its grassroots origins to the global initiative it has become. By continuing to raise awareness and celebrating Play True Day, we are building a future where every athlete can compete in a safe, fair, and inspiring environment.
For more information and to get involved, visit the official Play True Day page and take part in this global celebration of clean sport. Together, we can make a difference – one true play at a time.
