Nicaraguan sambist Moises Frederick has been named among the top 10 athletes of 2024 by the country's National Olympic Committee. A medalist at the Pan American Championships and a participant in the World SAMBO Championships, Moises took part in the Olympic Gala Dinner (X Gala Olímpica 2024), which was held on December 15 in Managua.

The country's best athletes and heads of national sports federations were traditionally invited to the celebration. Along with Frederick, the national SAMBO federation was represented by Judith Sierra, who won a silver medal at the Pan American Championships in Women's Combat SAMBO. She was recognized as the country's best sambist for the year among women.
