SAMBO competitions will be held as part of the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games
Sport and combat SAMBO competitions (among men) as well as sport SAMBO competitions (among women) will be held from September 24 to September 26 in Ashgabat (The Republic of Turkmenistan).
Sportsmen from 17 Asian countries have arrived in Ashgabat. They represent Afghanistan, Indonesia, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Mongolia, the Philippines, Syria, Thailand, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Taiwan, Uzbekistan and Yemen.
Men will compete in 52, 57, 62, 68, 74, 82 and 90 kgs weight categories in sport SAMBO and in 52, 57, 62, 68, 74, 82, 90, 100 and over 100 kgs weight categories in combat SAMBO. Women will fight in 48, 52, 56, 60, 64, 68 and 72 kgs weight categories.
Overall, 223 SAMBO athletes arrived for participating in the competitions.
The 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games started on September 16, all stands are full. The Games will end with SAMBO competitions on September 26. Unforgettable experience and emotions are waiting both for participants and spectators.
