Press conference on the eve of the start of the Asia and Oceania SAMBO Championships was held in Astana

The event, held on June 6 at the Beeline Arena press center, was attended by FIAS Vice President, Head of the Sambo Union of Asia (SUA) Alamjon Mullaev, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Sports and Physical Culture of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bekbolat Baizhanov, President of the Kazakhstan Federation of Sport and Combat Sambo Aidos Akzhanov and Secretary General of the National Federation Yernazar Bexultanov.
“This Championship will become truly historic, because in addition to traditional SAMBO competitions among adults, juniors, youth, as well as among masters, spectators will be able to watch fights among blind and visually impaired athletes. In total, more than 600 athletes from 30 countries will take part in the competition. Blind and visually impaired sambists will represent 11 countries of the Asian continent at this Championship,” Alamjon Mullaev noted. – Separately, I want to thank the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, without whose help and support this tournament would not have taken place, as well as the Kazakhstan Federation of Sport and Combat Sambo and personally its leader Aidos Akzhanov.”
The representative of the Ministry, speaking to journalists, drew the attention of those present to the qualities that SAMBO develops.
“This sport promotes friendship, patriotism and a healthy lifestyle. I wish all athletes that the competitions pass without injuries, and may the strongest win,” Bekbolat Baizhanov emphasized.
In the course of communication with the press, Alamjon Mullaev also emphasized that SAMBO is currently developing in all possible directions, one of which is women's combat SAMBO.
“Combat SAMBO fights among women will also become a feature of this Asian Championships,” Mullaev concluded.
