The World Games 2025 SAMBO Tournament to Stream Live

The Combat SAMBO tournament at The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China, will take place on August 13-14. Over these two days, medals will be awarded in both individual men’s and women’s competitions, as well as in the mixed team event. Fans worldwide can watch the action live on the World Games website and the official FIAS website.

Combat SAMBO Weight Categories in Chengdu:

Combat SAMBO (Men): 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg

Combat SAMBO (Women): 54 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, 80 kg

Mixed Team Combat SAMBO:

W-54kg & M-64kg,

W-59kg & M-71kg,

W-65kg & M-79kg,

W-72kg & M-88kg,

W-80kg & M-98kg

The Jianyang Cultural and Sports Center Gymnasium will host the SAMBO events. Its permanent seating capacity is 3,610, with an additional 890 removable seats available. This venue was previously used during the 2023 FISU World University Games.

SAMBO’s inclusion in Chengdu marks it as the only new sport added since the World Games 2022 in Birmingham, USA. FIAS became a member of the International World Games Association (IWGA) in 2021. SAMBO previously featured on the official World Games program in London, UK (1985) and The Hague, Netherlands (1993).

The 2025 edition will be the 12th World Games. This major multi-sport event showcases sports and disciplines not currently part of the Olympic program.

The World Games 2025 will be held in Asia for only the second time in history, and the first time ever in China.
